The National Coffee Park is found in Montenegro, Quind? um,
about 160 miles south west of Bogot? in the "axis" of the espresso
region of Colombia.
This kind of park is an alternate amusement parkequipment park to American style theme parks. This was founded in 95 by the
National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia and the Panel of Coffee
Growers of Quind? o. The objective of the nonprofit corporation that manages
the area is aid the ethnical heritage and history of coffee in Colombia.
What makes this park not the same as any others? What has
turned it a success as an area and national interest?
The park is positioned in a tiny and beautiful area. To
succeed in the park, guests have a cable car offering an impressive view of the
complete area.
The rolling inclines are planted with espresso, bananas,
fruit trees, plants and other local vegetation.
The farmers in the area allow us the best techniques of
coffee nurturing, harvesting and processing.

section has different names.
The "Zona Casta?a section" (the coffee zone)
includes a Coffee Show, Environmental Trail and the Espresso Museum.
The folkloric "Show del Caf? " has lively,
talented and colourful dancers who portray the history and cultural customs of
coffee. It is heartwarming to see the crowds react with excitement, pride and
patriotism during the show.
Coffee is a very important part of our economy in Colombia
and a good factor to social growth:
The ecological attractions include sketchy bamboo forests
and small coffee nurseries where site visitors learn how beans go from the seed
to the cup.
Visitors are directly exposed to espresso growing, picking,
de-pulping, drying out, de-husking and export arrangements.
Colombian and international vacationers walk trails reading
indicators and learning all about the coffees. There are intensive and varied
bloom gardens everywhere.
The memorial has several rooms with very complete
information and displays about the caffeine culture and trade.
The museum also showcases a very good 3D movie about the
daily life of a Colombian caffeine grower. This is a special way to feel like a
Juan Valdez in the photographs, if only for a short while!
Naturally, what would an amusement park be without the
rides?
The Espresso Park features all the expected rides and
destinations for those adults seeking thrills as well as for children as well.
For instance, the Cyclone rollercoaster ride is a very
exciting.
Right now there are carrousels, bumper vessels, bumper cars,
single go-karts, double go-karts and the "Cumbre" free fall trips.
There is also a train ride which is very appropriate since
